The 2024 General Assembly of CFE Tax Advisers Europe was held in Ljubljana on 20 September 2024, chaired by Stella Raventós-Calvo. During this important event, the European association representing tax institutes and chambers elected the new Executive Board for the 2025-2026 term, which will take office on 1 January 2025.

The General Assembly, the governing body of CFE Tax Advisers Europe, unanimously elected Piergiorgio Valente as President. Valente, Managing Partner of Valente Associati GEB Partners and Crowe Valente in Italy, as well as Professor at Link Campus University in Rome, will lead the organization for the next two years. Martin Phelan was re-elected as Secretary General, and Branislav Kováč was re-elected as Treasurer.

Three new Vice-Presidents were also appointed: Petra Pospíšilová (Czech Republic), Bruno Gouthière (France), and MSc Ivan Simič (Slovenia and Serbia). The Assembly also appointed two new Executive Board members, Anna Misiak (Poland) and Trudy Perié (Netherlands).

Finally, Jeremy Woolf was appointed Chair of the Fiscal Committee, Eduardo Gracia Espinar Chair of the Professional Affairs Committee, and Markus Ehgartner Chair of the Tax Technology Committee.

During the Assembly, Valente stated: “As the newly elected President, I recognize the immense value that young professionals bring to CFE’s future. We will prioritize inclusivity, ensuring that every voice is heard, and fostering a culture of active listening and cooperation.”

The General Assembly also discussed key issues for the future of the tax profession in Europe, addressing the challenges of digitalization and tax harmonization at the European level. The event provided participants with the opportunity to exchange best practices and contribute to shaping future tax policies in an increasingly global and interconnected environment.
